Mindfulness meditation from the rainforest

Practice mindfulness meditation in a small personalised group and learn different meditation techniques with Julie each week. Classes are held at Julie’s home reiki studio in Cairns, and are suitable for everyone — from beginners to advanced practitioners.  If you can’t make the classes you can join an online meditation class each Tuesday morning or watch a recorded class.

Julie is an experienced reiki, meditation, and yoga teacher and the meditation techniques she teaches are simple and very effective. Practiced regularly, they will help you create awareness and let go of worry and frustration leaving you calm and focused each day.  

Building a daily meditation practice is the aim of the classes, and so beneficial in our busy, stressful lives.

Julie recommends purchasing an initial block of at least 4 weekly classes which are structured as a Meditation course.  You can join the classes at any time as instruction is given each week.

Online Meditation Classes will be held on Zoom and the link sent to you at the time of booking.  If you miss one I can send you a recording that is available for 48 hours so you can watch and practice at your leisure.

Whats included:

      • Meditation basics: correct posture and focus on breath.
      • Guided instruction in a variety of simple meditation techniques.
      • Notes prior to the class for new students.

Morning Meditation Classes (at Rainforest Reiki)

      • Days:  Thursday Mornings (from 3 September – 12 November).  Class not available on 24 September.
      • Times: 9.15am-10.15am
      • Venue: Rainforest Reiki, 13 Falcon Street, Bayview Heights
      • Cost:  10 x classes $95,  8 x classes $85.  4 x classes $60.  One class $20.

Online Meditation Classes

      • Days:  Tuesday Mornings .  Available from October 2020. (Classes are recorded for 7 days so you can replay them at any time)
      • Times: 9.30am-10.30am
      • Cost:  10 x classes $95,  8 x classes $85.  4 x classes $60.  One class $20.

Private Meditation Classes at Rainforest Reiki

Julie offers private meditation classes at her home reiki studio in Cairns. Take a private class one-to-one with Julie, or even better — practice meditation with a small group of work colleagues, family or friends.

Private meditation classes include:

    • Instruction on sitting posture
    • Discussion on creating the right meditation space in your own home
    • Guided instruction and simple Japanese meditation techniques
    • Seated meditations.
    • Notebook to record progress and instruction.
    • Friendly and personalised tuition.
    • Filtered water

AUD $75 (1 hour session)
AUD $100 (1.5 hour session)
AUD $120 (1.5 hour reiki treatment and learning meditation)

Corporate Meditation Sessions

Why not support your staff in feeling calm and clear and organise a private meditation session for them.  This can be arranged at a time to suit the group, maybe before an important strategy meeting or before, after or during work hours.   The session can be tailor made for your requirements.  A popular choice would be a class where Julie starts by giving instruction on deeper breathing techniques followed by a fully guided meditation.   Julie can also facilitate short semi-guided meditations using simple techniques.

The cost is AUD$120 per session and can be from 30-45 mins depending on the time you have available.


Private Meditation Classes at Home

If you can’t make it to a group class, Julie is very happy to teach mindfulness meditation one-to-one in your own home. These home-based classes are also great for families or small groups of friends who want to start a meditation practice.

The cost is AUD$120 per session and Julie recommends 4 sessions initially, so you can learn the basics and practice the techniques until you are confident to practice on your own.

Meditation Retreat Days & Weekends

Whether you’re new to meditation or an experienced practitioner, why not take some time to retreat from your busy schedule and relax for a weekend of mindfulness meditation and gentle yoga. Julie holds regular meditation retreat days in Cairns and Yungaburra and will hold a weekend retreat on 25 & 26 July 2020.

Meditation retreat days and weekends include seated and walking meditations in Julie’s stunning rainforest garden, gentle yoga, self-reiki, plus a delicious vegetarian meals and treats.
